Photography on Westview

One of the main goals of Westview Gems is to represent gemstones in the most attractive yet most accurate manner.

All of the gemstones are photographed on an absolute white background to present the gem's color with no infulence from the background.

The images are processed to ensure the color and saturation of the gem matches the true characteristics of the gem in person.

A great gem begins with the rough. There are many ways to purchase rough, but traveling to the source allows us to select only the premium pieces.

Keep an eye on this space for updates after an upcoming trip to Africa in January.

Precision Cutting Matters

Many gemstones are cut for weight retention rather than beauty. This sacrifices the beauty and color of a gem for the size.

You can spot gems cut this way because you can see through the gem in the center. This is known as "windowing" or "fish eye". You will not see any gems at Westview with this problem.

Gems cut at Westview are based upon computer aided designs and are cut for beauty rather than size. Attention to detail and a passion for polishing result in a perfect gem.
